Dobbs: The United Nations is getting a bit burdensome, it seems to me, to anyone whose interested in freedom, whether it be through the World Trade Organization, whether it be though all sorts of institutions, organizations, whether ranging in issue to global warming to anti-blasphemy. Hitchens: Nothing to do with it's remit either, which is the settlement of disputes among members states through peaceful means, of course, nothing to do with that at all.

Not surprising to find The Fallen One having a field day with this UN resolution though. The resolution allegedly dedicated to "Combating Defamation of Religion" is indeed odious and should be opposed, but all this hullabaloo is just that, a clear-cut case of a molehill being made into a mountain. This scandal is just a manufactured wedge issue designed to stir up anti-Arab hysteria as well as ultranationalist parochialism through the synergy of combining those who froth at the mouth about Muslims all day long with the tin-foil hatted Black Helicopter crowd whom wring their hands and shout from the rooftops about the coming One-World Government being brought on by the United Nations.
I just hope we don't have to suffer Hitchens prattling on about this for months on end.
